-*Lip Blushing (Herpes Simplex in the past) Commonly referred to as a cold sore. Clients that have had a cold sore, are more likely to have an outbreak after Lip Blushing treatment in that area. We suggest, asking your doctor for Valacyclovir, Acyclovir (Zovirax) or any type of antiviral drug and start taking the tablets 5 days before treatment as they would reduce the chances of getting an outbreak after treatment.
For a successful outcome of the treatment, the skin must not be in the process of regeneration, i.e must not be damaged. Prior to the treatment it is necessary to consult with us if you:
-Have problematic skin
-Have any serious health issues
-Already have prior PMU, Ezema, Seborrheic, Dermatits or Severe Acne.

(Microblading. Powder Brows, Combo Brows, Nano Brows & Lip Blushing )
In the next 7 days:
-Maintain facial hygiene, do not touch your brows/lips or let anyone else touch them. Do not put anything on your brows/lips.
-Avoid all creams, (except for after care) all make up (foundation) in the eyebrow/lip area.
-Keep your hair away, change your pillowcase regularly to keep infection away.
-Apply a VERY thin layer of aftercare after washing your face or having a shower.
-Avoid hot showers, that will create steam around the brow/lip area, no saunas, hot tubs or steamy baths.
-Avoid workouts that involve a lot of sweating.
-When your brows/lip start peeling do not pick or peel at them.
-*Lips- Avoid splashing water on your face, avoid kissing & touching food and fluids with lips - where possible.
In the next 30 days:
No tanning, light therapy, chemical pills, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors, facial laser treatments, use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to faster pigment fading. Always protect your brows/lips from the sun with SPF except during the first 7 days.
Basically... do not get your new PMU wet (aside from cleansing) until they have fully healed and the scabs have fallen off. If your new PMU does get wet, pat it dry with a clean tissue and reapply the provided aftercare product. Your new PMU should be kept clean and moisturised with the aftercare product, DO NOT PICK, PEEL OR RUB your new PMU . Doing so risks the colour healing unevenly. The scabs must be allowed to flake away by themselves. A further risk of picking is infection, which could lead to scarring.
First step in healing, 30 minutes after treatment gently cleanse your eyebrows/lips using a mild neutral soap, either non-scented Baby soap, Cetaphil or spectro gel, without stretching the skin (cool water). Cleanse your brow/lip area until you don’t see traces of pigment or coloured lymph on your finger tips. Pat dry with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of after care (provided).
Repeat this process 2-3 times a day for the next 5-7days.
Correct aftercare is necessary to achieve the best results. Remember, the healing process is not a final result - the final result of colour retention will be visible around 4-6 weeks after your treatment.
For the first few days you might have some of the following symptoms. These are a normal part of the healing process:
Post Treatment
Mild pain
Minor swelling and redness
Mild tenderness
Swelling
Asymmetry due to swelling
Itchiness in the lips/brow area
Dry flaking skin
Mild headache
The healing process for a touch up is the same as your first treatment, except it is a lot shorter most of the time. This is because touch ups don't recreate the whole treatment again, we just fix the imperfections.
Remember everyone is different, therefore the healing times may differ per person.
Days 1-2
Right after you get your new PMU done it will look both bold and beautiful.
Eyebrows; will look 40-30% darker, while also being 10-15% bigger then they will be when fully healed.
Yes, they shrink a little!
Lips; will look 40-30% darker, while also having minor swelling doubling is size.
You are also most likely going to experience
-Minor swelling
-Redness
-Soreness
These side effects go away after the first day or two .
Days 3-5
On the third day you should start seeing the soreness go away, your new PMU is still dark but that will change shortly.
Around day 4 scabs will start developing and by day 5 your new PMU will be flaky and itchy.
Don't worry, this is a sign your skin is beginning to heal.
Days 6-8
During this stage your new PMU is going to start to fully scab and start flaking or peeling. Most likely your new PMU will also become very itchy. By day 7 the scabs will start peeling off, make sure to avoid any kind of scratching or picking, this will interrupt the healing process. As your new PMU continues to flake into day 8 you will see the dark colour soften and fade. Don't be alarmed if you see the pigment underneath is gone.
Days 9-12
Going into the second week, the flaking and peeling will finish. As it all flakes off you will see pigment go with it don't be afraid, it's normal. By day 12 your new PMU will have an even colour and will look more natural looking but keep in mind that unevenness of colour is to be expected. This is the purpose of having a touch-up appointment. Stress, poor diet, and failure to follow the aftercare guidance can all contribute to poor healing.
Days 13-21
Now that you're entering the third week the colour of your new PMU should be looking even more natural. On day 14, your new PMU can officially be under water again. You can return to your normal skin care routine.
Towards the end of the third week colour starts coming to the surface (note; if you had the Microblading treatment, your brows can look a bit patchy at this stage. This is normal ).
Days 22-30
Now that it's been a month in your PMU healing process, it's generally complete. The colour of your PMU is probably 75-85% back. You will see slightly more colour in the coming weeks.
Remember, after your eyebrows are healed you will need to get a touch up. Microblading clients will most likely need a touch up over a client that underwent Ombre Powder Brows; on occasion the colour doesn't take in some areas, or maybe you accidentally scratched a piece off in the healing process. Either way, that is why touch ups are needed.
